Yahekou Power Plant Project is a national key project with a planned capacity of 3.1 million kW. The first phase of the project has 2×350MW coal-fired generating units. It is a national “Ninth Five-Year Plan” key project that uses mixed loans from the Spanish government and is provided with major equipment by Spain. The total investment is RMB 5.192 billion, of which US$371.8 million is foreign capital and RMB 2.106 billion is domestic capital. The project is constructed by Henan Construction Investment Corporation, Henan Electric Power Company, and Nanyang Yongsheng Investment Co., Ltd. with a capital contribution ratio of 55%, 30%, and 15%. The project started construction on December 15, 1994.
The power plant boiler uses the technology of the French STEIN company and the W-type flame produced by the Spanish B&W company, subcritical, intermediate reheat, and controlled circulation drum boiler. The steam turbine generator set is a product of ABB of Switzerland. It is a subcritical, intermediate reheat, three-cylinder double-exhaust single-shaft condensing reaction steam turbine; the generator adopts static excitation and water-hydrogen-hydrogen cooling. The unit control system adopts ABB’s Procontrol-p distributed control system with a high level of automation.
The two units were put into commercial operation in November 1998 and June 1999 respectively. The equipment is in good operating condition, and the unit has formed the ability to generate power safely, economically, stably and fully. Its completion has greatly alleviated the power shortage in southwestern Henan, improved the layout of Henan power supply points, and greatly improved the safety and reliability of the system power supply.
