The Dalian-Yantai railway ferry operated by China Railway Bohai Ferry Company is the longest railway ferry in Asia. The project is a system engineering integrating railway, port, shipping and maritime safety management. It is a national key engineering construction project during our country’s “11th Five-Year Plan” period and has become an important part of the eastern coastal railway corridor from the northeast region to the Yangtze River Delta region in our country’s railway network. The Yantai-Dalian railway ferry project runs from Changlizi Station in Lushunkou District in the north to Fushan Station in Yantai City in the south, passing through the Bohai Strait. The sea transport distance is about 99.79 nautical miles (185 km). As for road transport, it is connected to the Shenyang-Dalian Expressway from Lushunkou West Station in the north via the Boyang Expressway. Cars heading south from Harbin and Shenyang can go directly to the port without having to detour through the Dalian city area. National Highway 202, located close to the port, can directly connect to Dandong via Huanghai Boulevard in the development zone. In the south, Yantai North Station connects to the “Shenhai” Expressway, in the southwest, it can directly connect to Jinan via the Laiwei Expressway and the Jiqing Expressway, and in the southeast, it can reach Qingdao in just two hours via the Yanqing First Class Expressway, making the area highly convenient for transportation.
